Friday Forum: Technology, No More Plans? A Virtual Procurement, Part 2

DateFriday, August 28, 2026
Time12:00 Noon - 1:30 PM
LocationVirtual, Microsoft Teams

Following a highly attended Friday Forum session last year, DBIA New England is taking a deeper dive into the rapidly evolving world of digital delivery and model-based project development.

Technology: No More Plans? A Virtual Procurement, Part 2 explores how transportation agencies are advancing digital delivery initiatives and leveraging 3D models to transform the way infrastructure projects are designed, delivered, and constructed.

As agencies continue to move toward model-centric workflows, designers, contractors, and owners need to understand how these changes affect procurement, project execution, and risk management. This session provides real-world examples, lessons learned, and practical insights for transportation professionals working in the design-build environment.

About the presenters

Jeff Bachiochi, PE – Transportation Technology Lead, VHB Vermont. Jeff is a highway engineer with more than 14 years of transportation infrastructure experience. He has been a leader in advancing digital delivery initiatives and has participated in several Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) pilot projects, including implementation of Model as a Legal Document (MALD).

Aaron Guyette – VHB Vermont, co-hosting the session.
