DBIA New England is the New England Region chapter of the Design-Build Institute of America. This page explains what this website collects, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. Last updated October 13, 2026.
When you fill in a form
The contact form asks for your first and last name, your email address, the subject you are writing about, and your message. We also record the IP address the message came from and the date it arrived, which is how we keep automated submissions out of the inbox.
Event registration asks for your name, company, email address, phone number, which event and ticket type you want, how many tickets, and the names of the people attending. You can tell us whether you want continuing education credit and whether you would like chapter email.
The chapter’s other forms, such as award entries and sponsorship submissions, ask for the information printed on each form.
We use what you send to answer you, to register you, to issue continuing education credit where it applies, and to run the chapter. We do not sell it, and we do not pass it to anyone outside the chapter except where this page says otherwise.
Payments
Event payments are handled by PayPal. Your card details go to PayPal and never reach this website or the chapter. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, the amount, and the registration it belongs to. PayPal’s own privacy terms cover what they do with your information.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. It tells us how many people came, roughly where from, and what they looked at. It does not tell us who you are, and we do not try to combine it with anything you send us through a form.
Google sets cookies to do this. If you would rather not be counted, Google publishes a browser add-on that turns it off everywhere, at Google’s opt-out page (opens in a new tab), and most browsers can block these cookies on their own.
Cookies
This site sets two kinds of cookie. One is a session cookie, which exists only while you have a form open and is what stops someone else submitting a form in your name. It disappears when you close your browser. The other kind is the Google Analytics cookies described above.
We do not use advertising cookies, and nothing here follows you to other sites.
Who sees what you send
Form messages go to the chapter’s own inbox and are read by chapter officers and by the people who maintain this site. Registration details are seen by the officers running that event. Our web host stores the site and its database, and keeps standard server logs. We will release information if the law requires it.
What you can ask us to do
Write to contact@dbiane.org and you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Deleting a registration may mean we can no longer confirm your attendance or your continuing education credit, so tell us if that matters to you.
If you no longer want chapter email, every message we send has an unsubscribe link, and it works.
Children
This site is for design and construction professionals. It is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
Changes to this page
When this page changes, the date above changes with it. We will not announce small corrections.
